A writers’ workshop was successfully conducted from 8 – 13 April 2015, with the aim of promoting and developing the Tagin language through publication of literature. The Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) invited their local MLA, and Deputy Commissioner as a guest for the inaugural function, where they spoke on the importance of preserving their language, something they believe to be a part of cultural development.

Around 22 individuals, including artists from the Tagin community, participated enthusiastically in the workshop. During the workshop some high-ranking officers from the Tagin community also came to support the workshop. Within this short period of time they collected around 20 folktales which they would like to publish once proofreading and editing has been done. The workshop ended with the participants pledging and encouraging each other to speak only their mother tongue within their own community.
